Start me up

I'm back. I contemplated starting a new blog. I even started it sorta and gave it a new title. But then I just couldn't desert this thing. What have I been up to? Well, we bought a house in July. Ok, Ron bought a house and I live there too. My summer was busy lining up cable, water, internet, packing, unpacking etc etc. When we finally got settled in things still didn't slow down. I was running the new neighborhoods exploring like crazy. On the weekends, I was most happy to wake up on Saturday, go run and then be back to the house by 10am so I could lounge by the pool with a cold beverage and a book. Ron started golfing again so he would normally not get home until later in the afternoon and I had lots of time to float around the pool and read. It was great. I miss my pool. :( Now it's probably 50 degrees. I started upping my mileage and adding in some long runs looking for a fall marathon to run. I finally settled on San Antonio marathon, which I ran on Sunday. My knee was bothering me for 3 weeks prior to the race so I was nervous I wouldn't be able to run. But I did. I had a great race up until about halfway. I knew I started off too fast. When all of your first 10 miles are 30 seconds faster then they should be, you know you're in trouble. I knew it but I couldn't slow my legs down until it was too late. The last 10 miles were the hardest that I have ever run. Anyway, lesson learned. I crossed the finish line with a smile I think. I haven't seen the finish line photos though yet. Now I'm just hobbling around and waiting for my legs to feel normal again.

We also had some family time. Ron's mom and grandma came to stay with us for a week. Then we went up to Nebraska to see my mom, stepdad and brother for 3 days. Then we just saw my dad and Janet this weekend in San Antonio.

That's pretty much it for the most part. You can read Ron's blog at captsmakk.blogspot.com for more details as seen through his eyes.

Happy 3 day weekend!

I am so excited. It's Friday. There is a 3 day weekend. I want to eat some good food, get some sun and hang with my boyfriend. I can't wait. I had a really good run this morning. The first one in more then a week. The heat has just been kicking my ass. Yes, even at 7am it sucks. My legs have been feeling sore and dead. I took yesterday off and got plenty of fluids. I think being properly hydrated made up a lot of the difference. Oh, and Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark came on my ipod. I was like yeah! Taylor Hicks! I can run for Taylor. So I'm runnin and runnin. People are driving by thinking look at that girl run. She has so much energy. Little do they know that I'm a huge geek and I'm only doing good at this point because of AMERICAN IDOL. Wow. And I'm putting that on the internet for all to see. But I really just love Taylor.

So last Saturday was Ron's birthday. We ate very good that day. Lunch was Cafe Miso in Addison and dinner was Americas Latin Cuisine and Tapas The mojitos are really good. Way better then Bahama Breeze. I had some latin drink but I couldn't say it nor do I remember what it was now. It was sweet but good. The food was very rich but good. We went back to the hotel after that for more drinks and exploring the hotel. The Anatole is a very nice hotel and is now a Hilton. I'm sure with the new renovations it will be even nicer.

On Sunday I packed a picnic and we went out on the boat. It was kinda hot and windy but we had a great time. Reminder to Ron, hug the wall of tires coming in.

Anyway not much else has happened lately. I just wanted to check in. I need to get Pepper a appt to get fixed and declawed and I need to go to Sprint about a new phone. Mine is on it's last days.

17 days later

She returns to blogger. *crowd cheers* scratch that. that can't be right.

17 days later she returns to blogger. *crickets* there we go.

I had a great workout this morning. I didn't start off with a plan. Maybe I'd run 5 or 6 ? 7? Where to run is what I thought while I stretched. I'm boooored with my usual routes. Anyway I ended up on a route that keeps me away from traffic quite a bit. This route puts me on two different hills that I have done hill repeats on. I decided to do the shorter steeper one on my way back. I wonder if the people in these houses look out their window thinking I'm crazy. "Look, theres a girl out there running. Look, wow, she's sprinting. Oh wait now shes walking back down the hill. Maybe she left something. Nope there she goes back up it again. Does she not see that dead, cut in half snake right there in the middle of the road? We put that there just to deter runners from doing this kind of thing. Oh she sees it. She's running on the opposite side of the road. I bet the guts hanging out kinda makes her want to puke."

Dad is in town. I'm hoping I can get off early today so I can go hang with him. Wish he was here on a weekend. Darn it!

My elbow hurts. Why? Oh god please don't let me get carpal tunnel or something.

Ron's birthday is this weekend. I got him a _______. Do you think he'll like it? He thinks he may have to work a bunch in the next couple weeks on a new account, including his birthday. What is up with that? So we are going to do something just the two of us. That will be nice. Did you know he's turning 37? That is like really old. Remember when we all used to call him Dad? Back at club 301. I liked that place. I thought the whole interior corridor type entrance was cool. There are some apts right by my place now like that. I looked at them but they were just a little more then what I'm paying now.

I guess I will get on with the work thing. Even though I waited 40 minutes for a phone call earlier. That means we are d-e-a-d. Ok, so really I'm off to play on myspace and surf the web.

Many competitive women athletes experience menstrual irregularities.
Menstrual irregularities include amenorrhea (the absence of a menstrual period) and oligomenorrhea (infrequent menstruation). Athletes may also experience hidden abnormalities such as shortened luteal phase, and anovulatory cycles.
Menstrual irregularities reflect low serum estrogen levels.
Estrogen is a key hormone in bone deposition and maintenance.
Women athletes with menstrual irregularities are at increased risk for low bone mass and stress fractures.

new shoe!

So after my race on Saturday I retired my Nikes. They had about 400 miles on them. Wow. And I just got them in November and really didn't even start wearing them until January. Anyway aren't the new ones cute? I think I'm really going to like them.

Ok I was really going to try to make a decent post here but I'm starving and it's lunch time.

Two in one day!!!

Just have to say there is nothing better then right now. I'm only missing one thing. My honey and he'll be home soon. I'm eating a very wonderful meal (prepared by honey). Drinking my favorite bottle of merlot (smoking loon). I have my kitty on my lap and I'm watching my favorite show, Grey's Anatomy. Life is good.

So.....

Where has Sarah been? Why is she mia? Is she in MIA? (airport code for Miami) No, I'm still around. Just have writers block. I started a blog for Carrot the dog and only got him to post twice. I suck. So basically here is what I've been doing.
-riding a bike
-running 5 days a week
-playing with my new kitty. picture update next
-saw the Styx at billy bobs
-eating too much
-drank too much this last weekend
-saw V for Vendetta
-took carrot for a jog

So that's about it really. Here is a picture of the cat. After much thought I've named her Pepper.

What?????

No beer here at work on a Friday! A Friday that is St. Pattys Day! This is the worst day in my entire career. I should quit. I could just walk out. Paying bills is so overrated.

Ok, well maybe not. I will just keep my eye on the prize. The liquor store is across the street and I can see it out my window.

*sigh*

one hour 10 minutes.

Happy St. Patricks Day!
