I picked up a BQ this weekend

For those non runners that is Boston Qualifier. I ran White Rock Marathon so well this weekend that I achieved what many runners spend years and years working to do. I'm sore, creaky and a little funny feeling but I'm elated! I ran it in 3:31:58. I was 6th in my age group and 44th female overall out of I think 1000. Wow. I'm going to take the recommended 7-10 days off from running. Then I'm going to do a little bit of running in December and then look at what marathon program I want to do to train for Boston. Here's a picture from mile 23. Ron, Stephanie, Sheila, and Jessica were there cheering me on. Honestly, that really kept me going for a lot of miles. A few before and then the last 3 after. And I wouldn't have even been brave enough to attempt the 8:00 minute pace for a 3:30 finish if it weren't for Ron. So thanks, babe. :)

In the meantime, I have some Christmas parties and Christmas shopping to do. I need to catch up with those things that have been neglected the last few months. You know, talking on the phone, drinking, going out......wait I guess those weren't completely neglected.

Yesterday I had off from work and layed around all morning. Then Ron brought home lunch and we went with his real estate agent to look at some townhomes. 3 story town homes. Did I mention that stairs kill my legs and knees right now? I added it up and I think I did 37 flights of stairs yesterday. Half of them backwards because it hurts less that way going down.

We also got some Christmas shopping done and saw Harry Potter. I think I was smart in not rereading the book again before seeing the movie. I have heard a lot of people say they were disappointed because the movie didn't capture it all. Well, first off the book was huge and the movie was already too long. There would be no way to get all of the book into a movie script. Anyway it was cute. The kids are growing up and the movie itself seems a lot less childish. Not that I'm afraid to watch kids movies. Finding Nemo is still the best! Just keep swimming just keep swimming........

  • Are neither of your feet actually touching the ground in that shot? And is that the jail in the background?
