Updates

I got my new St. Pattys Day shirt. I think it's pretty dang funny. :)

In running news......I feel slow. I want to be FAST for my 5k. So all this week and next week I'm going to run shorter distances( 3 and 4 miles) at a faster pace. I know it's a little short notice to start training for a 5k but I'm doing the best I can. I think this race will determine if I'm going to be doing some more 5 and 10k's or moving back to the longer distances. I feel great running long and miserable short and fast. But it's probably just because I'm not used to it. I don't know. Maybe I should even get some racing flats for my 5k's. I used to have them back in the day.

All of this complaining is stemming from my 10k at Cowtown on Saturday. I ran 1 minute 18 seconds slower then I wanted. Very disappointing. My time was 46:08 and I was 4th in my age group. Of course they only placed to 3. I could blame it on the rain. (hey, isnt' that a song my Milli Vanilli?)It was cold. My feet were frozen. I could also blame it on not having nano. I never run without it and I could hear my breathing the whole time. I could blame it on starting off way too fast. Or that it was only my second 10k. But really I'll just chalk it up as not my best and leave it at that. It happens. Can't win em all.

On a positive note the day (and weekend) overall was pretty good. Ron, got up at 5:20 am and went to cheer me on with minimal grumbling. Thank you, honey. I got to see Starr and Sheila. We ate breakfast afterward at Esperanzas. It was really good. It's owened by the same people that own Joe T Garcias. After that we headed back to Dallas, got cleaned up and went to look at some houses. I think we've found the area we want to live in. I can't wait! We went to Greenville Avenue that night and tore it up at Suede, which I really like.

I'll try to get the pic of Sheila and I posted tomorrow.

A Picture Share!

My award from White Rock finally arrived. :)

Best part of being tan

Is when the inbetween of your fingers and toes is so white compared to the rest of you. I feel like a little mexican girl or something. :) Trip was great. Too tired for recap at this time.

Dear Cupid or whoever you are

I see you have split up another couple. They were friends/aquaintences of mine. They thought they were both getting a brand new start on life. The ugly D word was a long distant memory. They even chanced starting a family together. And now she's 31 with a baby to add to her son from her last marriage. And SINGLE again. Ugg. Please leave me out of your disruption of happily ever after. I like to think that maybe you've put me on the right path and you can just bow out gracefully now and leave the rest to me. Thanks.

Registered for 10k

The Big Ball's in town
Big Ball's in Cowtown
We'll all go down
Big Ball's in Cowtown
We'll dance around

I registed for the 10k for Cowtown Marathon. I'm really excited to do another race. And I'm so glad I'm not doing a half or full marathon. I don't think I'm in as good of shape as I was this fall and it would upset me to have a slower time.

In other news, Valentines Day was yesterday. Ron surprised me with a silver heart ring from Tiffanys, bright pink roses and a cute card. Glad we had just said it's a commercialized holiday and we were just going to stay home and cook dinner. ;) Dinner was excellent. "So I'm spoiled but I'm not a brat." in the words of Jessica Simpson.

We leave for Cancun on Friday. I am so excited! I really wish it were time already. I just want to fast forward to the part where I have my luggage in my hand and am setting foot at the resort. We can just skip the hair highlighting, trip to Target for mini bottles and batteries, arranging for Carrots babysitter, flight, customs, and scurvy mexican driver checking out my ass. Wait, why am I spending money to highlight my hair when the sun is just going to naturally do it? And the ocean water will be damaging to my freshly done hair? hmmm.....Let me rethink this one. Oh well, I want it to look good now, damn it! ;)

Guess that's it for now. I gotta run all these errands. Also need to figure out what in the hell to pack. I have to pack running clothes too because I can't go four days without running.

Why?

Why do I run?
-Because it makes me feel good. Like I am actually accomplishing something.
-Because I'm good at it.
-Because it keeps me in great shape.
-Because I'm competitive.
-Because it's nice to have a hobby and I think is a great one.
-Because it allows me to eat more food and we all know I love to eat.

Why do I drink?
-Sometimes to have fun.
-Sometimes when I'm down.
-Because it's in my genes?
-Because I am funnier, smarter and cuter when I drink? ;)
-Because it can make a lot of situations a lot more fun.

Why am I so girly?
-Must have learned it from mom.
-Because I like to look good and feel good about myself.
-Because girls rule and boys drool.
-Because life would be so incomplete without tanning, hair coloring, shopping, shoes, clothes, perfume, taking an hour to get ready, the excitement of wearing something new... ;)

Why do I love Pat Green?
-Because he's a good ole Texas boy.
-Because he sings songs about Texas. And won't ever quit.
-Because he is the only artist that I can own all of his cds but when one of his songs come on the radio I get soooo excited like it's the first time to hear it.
-Because he has brought me a lot of new friends and also provided me and my friends many many moments of entertainment.

Why do I love my boyfriend?
-Because he is cute.
-Because he makes me laugh. All the time.
-Because I have fun with him.
-Because he thinks I'm pretty and tells me so.
-Because he is tolerant off all my quirks and still loves me.
-Because he needs me to take care of him so that he doesn't go off and have a seatbelt accident, lose the dog, not eat right, waste his time with the wrong girl, and never have such a good bunny as me.

Carry On!

Yes, I had a great run. Thanks for asking.

I love all my running gadgets. And yet, I feel like the bionic woman sometimes. Since I got my new running watch I have mostly just used the food pod and the watch. This morning I decided to use the heart rate monitor too. I've only used it twice and want to see what my heart rate is doing. So, I wet the electrode part and put it on. Brrr. Now I'm really looking forward to getting out in the 35 degree weather. The watch recognizes my heart rate and I keep looking at it while I'm doing some stretches. Right before I walk out the door I notice the display is completely blank. Argggg!!! what the hell?! I just got this for Christmas so I can't see the battery being dead already. *sigh* Now, I'm going to have to run without a watch. I'm not THAT addicted to the pace/distance but not knowing how long I've been out running drives me crazy. Anyway 53 minutes later I am back and have no clue how far I ran. But it was a good one. The sun is coming up early so I got some light not too far into the run. I ran down a new route for a bit and I saw some gorgeous homes. I also ran by the highland park police department. FAncy little cop hut they have there. How is it that I feel guilty when I see a cop even when I'm not doing anything? Anyway it ended up being 6.15 miles according to gmap-pedometer.com. Lukes Locker says they will probably just replace my watch. Now I have to go home during lunch to get the receipt. Where did I put that thing??? And then to LUkes after work so I can have a watch in the morning. Fun!

A movie about Sarah??

Who would play you in a movie based on your life?

Well the obvious person I would pick is Jessica Simpson because shes so gorgeous and who doesn't want to be played by a gorgeous woman? But, I don't think she can pull it off. I don't think she can be funny without making me look like a ditz. And she is just way curvier then me. I think these ladies should definetely audition.

Sienna Miller
I can strike some killer poses.

Reese Witherspoon
Look she's even running!!

Scarlett Johansson
See here is how I feel when I'm mad.

And Lauren from Laguna
Here I am about to go on a date with my very own version of Jason.

So anyway those are my picks. It's going to be so annoying having them following me around trying to get my character down. I will have such a awful time shopping with LC and running with Reese. ;)
